27 people, including women and children, have died at sea off Tunisia after two boats capsized. 83 people were rescued from the sea, according to the rescue service.
The passengers were found off the island of Kerkennah, off Tunisia's eastern coast. They all came from African countries south of the Sahara and had Europe as their destination.
Kerkennah is a common departure point for migrant boats traveling across the Mediterranean with Italy as their main destination.
