The man was convicted of aggravated drunk driving, aggravated causing the death of another person and aggravated causing bodily harm, P4 Norrbotten reports.
The convicted man lost control of the car, drove off the road in Arvidsjaur municipality and collided with a tree.
The district court determined that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
He has admitted only to aggravated drunk driving. He denies the crime and claims that he was not driving the car at the time of the accident, a claim the court regarded as an afterthought.
The man must also pay a total of 275,000 SEK in damages to the deceased man's relatives.
