On Friday morning, 46 train drivers went on strike after negotiations between the Norwegian Train Drivers' Association and the train company Vy broke down.

The Norwegian Train Drivers' Association (NLF) has, among other things, demanded greater predictability in working hours and equal pay after the merger of Vy and Flytoget.

"We demand that train drivers who do the same work receive the same pay. It is a bad pay policy. It is a bad personnel policy, and it is a bad railway policy," union leader Rolf Ringdal says in a press release.

The employers' association Spekter, the other party, believes that the train drivers' demands are too high.
