The man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon, says Gabriel Wernstedt, press spokesperson for Säpo.
Regarding the crime of participation, the suspicions concern violent Islamist extremism and participation in the terrorist organization Hamas.
According to the arrest warrant, the man was arrested just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
The crime of participation is suspected to have been ongoing since August last year. The two weapons crimes were committed in the fall of 2025 and on the day of the arrest, January 27.
Documents from the district court indicate that another person is a suspect in the case. However, it is not clear what crime the suspicions relate to.
According to Säpo, the investigation has been ongoing "for some time."
And that is not uncommon when it comes to our preliminary investigations. Cases can last for a period of time before suspects are arrested, detained and remanded in custody. That is also the case here, says Gabriel Wernstedt.
A detention hearing is planned to be held on Friday at Malmö District Court.
