All 23 workers who were trapped for two days in a collapsed gold mine in Colombia have been rescued.

The miners, who were stuck 80 meters below ground, have during the rescue work received food, water and air through pipes.

The workers have also been able to communicate with their families and the rescue workers via telephone.

The mine, which is located near the city of Segovia in northeastern Colombia, is operated by a Canadian company.

Mine accidents are common in Colombia. Last year, 124 people died as a result of mine accidents in the country.
