A 22-year-old Swede is accused of recruiting Swedish so-called "child soldiers" to Denmark. The first day of the trial is Thursday at Copenhagen District Court.

When several young Swedes traveled to Copenhagen in the spring and summer of 2024 to commit serious crimes for payment, it was the clients behind encrypted apps who gave instructions.

According to Copenhagen police, one of them is a young Swedish man who is now charged with planning four murders in Denmark together with a 32-year-old man.

There are almost no witnesses in the case because no shots were ever fired.

In one of the cases, two Swedish girls, who were 15 and 14 years old at the time, traveled to a town outside Herning in Jutland, where they were supposed to kill a man at his home. However, the man was not home, and the attempt failed.

During the trial, prosecutor Alexander Scheel shows a video in which the girls show the murderers that they walked around the man's house with a gun for several minutes.

"You can see the girls looking in through the window," Scheel says, emphasizing that there is a children's bicycle by the house.

The 22-year-old Swedish man claims he is innocent and denies any wrongdoing.
