The countries' foreign ministers write that they have noted that Israel has given indications of resuming a limited amount, but that the population in Gaza is threatened by starvation after Israel stopped aid shipments to the area, and that the stocks of food, medicines, and vital supplies are depleted.

"We stand firm in our commitment to meet the acute needs we see in Gaza. We also reiterate our firm message that Hamas must immediately release all remaining hostages and allow humanitarian aid to be distributed without interference", the countries write.

Among the countries that have signed the statement are also France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, Canada, and Japan.
