The last time a tuna was sold at the Gothenburg fish auction was in 2020.

The bluefin tuna is protected in Sweden, but could still be sold because it was caught as bycatch by a Danish fishing boat.

Then you can bring in the fish and sell it, but it is unusual for that to happen, says Roger Thilander, CEO of the Gothenburg Fish Auction, to Göteborgs-Posten.

There was great interest in the tuna and the winning bid was 260 kronor per kilo - a total of 56,160 kronor.

That's a lot of money for a fish, Thilander tells GP.
