Helsingborg defeated Gif Sundsvall 2–1 at home and took three crucial points in the top struggle of Superettan. 20-year-old Adrian Svanbäck became a big hero with his two full hits. Winning is damn the best thing that exists, says HIF's team captain Jon Birkfeldt to Max.

It's getting increasingly tight in the top struggle of Superettan.

With three rounds left to play, only one point separates three teams, which primarily compete for an Allsvenskan spot and a qualifying spot.

And after Monday's win against Gif Sundsvall, it's Helsingborg who sits in the driver's seat. Much thanks to 20-year-old Adrian Svanbäck.

First, the Finn made it 1-0 in the 25th minute, which found its way in via a Sundsvall leg. But at the beginning of the second half, he didn't need any help from the away team, when he headed in the match's second goal.

Sundsvall got a consolation goal, but didn't get any closer than that. The match ended 2-1, and Helsingborg snatched all three points.

There was a lot of fighting today. A classic autumn match in Superettan. Finishing and such, it's maybe not the most important thing. Three points should be in, and we solve that today, says Jon Birkfeldt to Max.

Thus, HIF passes both Landskrona and Öster, who both lost their matches during the weekend, and are the new table runners-up with a one-point margin.

It's Superettan, everyone beats everyone. It's about winning your matches, you can't rely on anyone else. It's now it's decided, continues HIF captain Birkfeldt.

Degerfors leads the table with seven points, and can already tomorrow secure an Allsvenskan comeback next season after being relegated. If DIF beats rival Örebro on Tuesday, they can officially call themselves the winners of Superettan 2024.

1. Degerfors, 53 points (plays its 27th match tomorrow Tuesday).

2. Helsingborg, 46 points.

3. Öster, 45 points.

4. Landskrona BoIS, 45 points.

5. Sandviken, 42 points.
