The 20-year-old, who lives in the Stockholm area, was arrested and remanded in custody in February. According to the indictment, he has tried to build a Swedish cell of the group, tried to recruit new members in Sweden and distributed propaganda material on behalf of the group.
He was sentenced by Attunda District Court to one year and six months in prison.
The group, which was established around 2017–2018, became known when it began spreading videos of brutal assaults on social media such as Telegram and VKontakte. Since then, it has been linked to a long list of serious crimes, including several murders.
The group was designated a terrorist organization by Russia in 2023 and has also been designated a terrorist organization in the UK and Canada since last year. Prosecutor Lars Hedvall has described it as a neo-Nazi organization with strong Satanist traits.
They are trying to push for a social collapse through acts of violence that will result in a new social order. They want to see a new fourth kingdom with a white man as ruler, he has said.
