2016 songs are on the rise on Spotify

The viral trend of looking back on 2016 is also noticeable on Spotify.

On social media, 2016 is being referenced everywhere right now. Pictures, memories, popular culture and music are being shared.

According to Spotify, this is also noticeable on the streaming service, where playlists with the title "2016" have increased by 790 percent in the past month. Spotify has listed the ten most popular songs in 2016 playlists created by Swedish users:

In first place is Justin Bieber and DJ Snake's "Let Me Love You", followed by "Lush Life" (Zara Larsson), "I Took a Pill in Ibiza (Seeb Remix)" (Mike Posner), "Sorry" (Justin Bieber), "What Do You Mean?" (Justin Bieber), "Light It Up (Remix)" (Fuse ODG, Major Lazer, Nyla), "Outside" (Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding), "One Dance" (Drake, Kyla, Wizkid), "Summer" (Calvin Harris) and "Cheerleader" (Felix Jaehn, OMI).
