600 jobs may be cut at Telia in the first quarter of 2026, the company has informed its employees.

In Sweden, this affects around 215 jobs. Union negotiations have begun, and the company expects to be able to notify affected employees of the cuts in February.

For the Finnish operations, this involves around 280 positions.

"The change comes as our local markets and units review how they can increase efficiency and competitiveness and continue to develop Telia to be easier to work with, faster to meet customer needs and more efficient, contributing to profitable growth," writes the company's communications manager, Tobias Gyhlénius, in an email to TT.

In parallel with the reductions, 150 new services are expected to be added, including connectivity that is critical for businesses and society.
