At least 20 people have been arrested in police raids in several locations in France following coordinated attacks on French prisons in recent weeks, according to sources.
The arrests were made in the Paris region, Marseille, Lyon, and Bordeaux, and the raids are ongoing.
President Emmanuel Macron has pledged that those responsible will be "found, held accountable, and punished".
Justice Minister Gérald Darmanin has made a connection between the prison attacks and drug trafficking.
