All of the crimes are alleged to have been committed remotely over the internet between 2023 and 2025. The victims are in several countries. The 18-year-old was convicted despite his denials.
In the judgment, the Umeå District Court states that the prison sentence must be seen as very severe for a person who was 15-17 years old when the acts were committed.
The 18-year-old, who lives in the Umeå area, is being convicted, among other things, of ordering a high-profile attack in the Stockholm suburb of Hässelby last year, when a 14-year-old boy stabbed a woman and an elderly man.
He is also convicted of causing a girl in Australia to self-harm and attempt suicide. He is also convicted of six counts of rape against the girl.
He has also caused a boy in Germany to hurt himself so badly that the boy almost died.
The verdict covers a number of serious crimes - including two counts of attempted murder, one count of aiding and abetting attempted murder, six counts of rape, three counts of aggravated assault, eleven counts of aggravated exploitation of children for sexual posing, twelve counts of aggravated child pornography and five counts of aggravated animal cruelty.
Under the alias "Chai", the 18-year-old is identified as a high-ranking member of 764 - a self-proclaimed online sect with violent and extremist tendencies.
The sect operates in a larger context called "The com", an online environment populated mostly by young people with an interest in violent extremism and hatred of humanity.
