Several people are reported to have been killed in an Israeli attack in central Gaza on Thursday. Witness accounts claim that the attack occurred when people tried to retrieve, among other things, flour that was being distributed by the Palestinian police, who had seized the goods from gangs that had plundered aid shipments.
According to hospital reports, 18 people were killed.
The attack in the city of Dayr al-Balah appears to have targeted the police unit, which is part of Gaza's Hamas-led Ministry of the Interior.
Israel's military has initially not commented on the reports.
