Turkish prosecutors have detained 21 people – including 17 football referees and the president of a top club – as part of an investigation into a betting scandal.
The scandal broke out after the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) suspended 149 referees last week.
Federation President Ibrahim Haciosmanoglu said a state agency had found that 371 out of 571 active referees had accounts with gambling companies. Of these, 152 referees had bet money on football matches.
