A 16-year-old boy is convicted by Växjö district court for raping a minor girl, reports Smålandsposten. The rape occurred in a school toilet in Växjö municipality.
The exposed girl told the court that she both tried to push the 16-year-old away and clearly said no before the assault.
The 16-year-old has consistently denied the crime and claimed it was voluntary sex. However, the court finds the girl's account credible and establishes that it is proven that the 16-year-old – who knew the girl beforehand – was aware that the girl was under 15 years old.
The 16-year-old, previously without a criminal record, is convicted of child rape and sentenced to nine months of youth supervision. He is also ordered to pay 240,000 kronor to the girl.
