The rape took place in March this year at a home in Västerås. The child was raped with an object and suffered life-threatening injuries. According to the verdict, it all started as a joke. Another person held the child down, Västmanlands Läns Tidning reports.
The 16-year-old was charged with aggravated rape of a child, but the district court found that it had not been proven that he caused the injuries intentionally.
He admits to the incident, but because he did not intend to harm the child, he was sentenced to eight months of youth supervision for rape of a child of the normal degree. The 16-year-old must also pay SEK 296,149 in damages to the 13-year-old.
