The huge fires in France and Spain have now forced more than 166,000 people to evacuate in the two countries, according to AFP.
French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez says the fires in the country are "unprecedented" and the military has been called in to try to limit their spread.
At the same time, two of three large forest fires have merged outside Madrid, threatening the town of Navas del Rey, among other places.
