The accident site is located between the popular tourist resorts of Dahab and Nuweiba on the east coast.
Several of the dead were from Jordan, the country's Foreign Ministry said.
28 people were injured.
Last year, nearly 6,000 people died in traffic accidents across the country, according to Egypt's state statistics agency.
