A 15-year-old girl has been detained on probable grounds suspected of involvement in the murder of a high school-aged girl in Landskrona.
It involves both murder and kidnapping, says prosecutor Tomas Olvmyr to TT.
Another girl under 15 years old is still a suspect in the investigation regarding the same crime. Since she is not criminally responsible, she cannot be detained.
Interrogations have been held with both girls, who have provided information about what happened.
Some admissions have been made that they were involved. They have told us about the background and why it turned out this way. All three know each other, says Olvmyr.
The investigation continues
More interrogations will be held in the near future.
This is about serious crime and then it's important that everything is right and that we don't lock ourselves in from the start, says Olvmyr and continues:
We will ensure that what the girls say is true, that it's not a false confession and if anyone else was involved.
Severe violence against the body
Kenth Pehrsson, investigation leader for serious crimes in Helsingborg, has previously stated to TT that severe violence was used against the girl's body.
I cannot comment on the injuries, says Olvmyr.
All I can say is that the injuries are of the nature that we assess that it's not anything else that caused her death.
According to Expressen, the coast guard is conducting dives related to the murder investigation.

Considering detention
The girl under 15 years old is being taken care of by social services. The 15-year-old girl is currently detained. Olvmyr states that he will consider whether she should be requested to be detained.
Regarding the girls' attitude towards the suspicions, Olvmyr refers to their respective legal representatives. None of them have wanted to comment on the girls' attitude.

Was going to a pajama party
It was during the night to Tuesday that police found a girl under 15 years old lifeless during a routine patrol in an industrial area in central Landskrona. She died later at the hospital.
The murdered girl's mother has told TV4 News that her daughter was supposed to meet some friends at a pajama party in Landskrona on Monday.
