According to Postnord, the cause is a system error at a supplier of delivery services that the company uses. The private customers affected have previously ordered goods from China, orders that have now been re-announced.
"We are now having a dialogue about how the incorrect data transfer and notifications could have occurred. It is important to emphasize that this is not fraud," says Postnord's press manager Anders Porelius in a press release.
Around 170 people have so far contacted Postnord's customer service.
Since the notification is linked to an old order, and is therefore incorrect, there is no package to pick up. The recipient should feel safe to ignore it, says Anders Porelius.
