The appeal comes after the US President Donald Trump, whom Musk serves as an advisor to, has repeatedly threatened to turn his independent neighbor to the north into the 51st state of the USA.
Tesla and X CEO Musk leads the White House unit Doge, which has been tasked by Trump to significantly cut down on the American government apparatus. He holds Canadian citizenship through his mother Maye, who was born in the province of Saskatchewan in Canada.
In the request, which was submitted to the parliament on Thursday, Musk is accused according to The Guardian of "activities that go against Canada's national interests" through his role in Trump's government.
