A fifteen-strong group of Swedes are on board the ships in the Global Sumud Flotilla's Gaza convoy, the Foreign Ministry reports on its website.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs "looks with increasing concern at the development" after the latest reports of drone attacks on the vessels.

"The Ministry for Foreign Affairs notes that Israel has publicly communicated its intentions to maintain the blockade off the coast of Gaza, which means that Israel will prevent access", writes the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The Department also points out that it has been advising against all travel to Gaza for ten years and urges Swedes to follow the advice.

"It means: Do not go there at all. The advice is a signal that the security situation is serious and that individuals should carefully consider their decision to travel. Sweden has no opportunities to provide consular assistance at sea."

Among others, activist Greta Thunberg is on board.
