The truck overturned and crashed into a passenger car and another vehicle transporting construction workers. At least 15 people died in the dramatic traffic accident, which took place between Merida and Campeche in southeastern Mexico.
"Fifteen people were confirmed dead on the spot, including the truck driver," writes an authority representative for Yucatan in social media and adds that two people were injured.
The traffic accident is the third spectacular one in Mexico in less than a week. On Monday, ten people died and over 40 were injured when a freight train collided with a double-decker bus in the central parts of the country. Two days later, 13 people died and around 70 were injured when a tanker truck exploded in Mexico City.
