The shooting incident occurred one evening in May last year. No one was injured by the bullets. The then 14-year-old boy was arrested later that evening.
The prosecutor brought charges against him. Now, Nyköping District Court has established that he is guilty of the shots fired inside the pub. He is also deemed guilty of attempting to shoot inside the pub a week earlier, but the weapon clicked, local media report.
According to the district court, the boy, now 15 years old, is guilty of four counts of attempted murder, writes Södermanlands Nyheter.
Due to the boy being under 15 years old at the time of the crimes, he cannot be punished and will be handed over to social authorities.
However, the age of criminal responsibility in Sweden may be on its way down. On Tuesday, an investigation that has reviewed it will be presented, and Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer (The Moderate Party) said on SVT's Agenda on Sunday that the age of criminal responsibility should be lowered to 14 years.
Several children's rights organizations have criticized a lowered age limit, saying it goes against Swedish criminal law tradition.
