The attack on a school in the Turkish province of Kahramanmaras was the second of its kind in the country in two days.
Six of the injured are being treated in intensive care, three in critical condition, according to Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci. Several students were reportedly injured when they jumped out of windows to escape.
The 14-year-old who died in the incident was the son of a former police officer. In a photo on his WhatsApp profile, he allegedly referenced Elliot Rodger, who killed six people in California in 2014 and then took his own life.
On Thursday, Turkey's Justice Minister announced that authorities had arrested over 160 people accused of glorifying crimes linked to school shootings online.
