14 Drownings Reported in August, Highest Summer Toll Since 2018

The gloomy development of drownings continues. During August, 14 people were killed in drowning accidents, according to the Swedish Lifesaving Society's preliminary figures.

The figure can be compared to twelve people the previous year. During the summer period May-August, 63 people have been killed, the highest figure since 2018.

July became one of the worst months in several years when it comes to the number of drowning accidents. 31 people lost their lives in seas, lakes and pools.
