13 soldiers have been killed in attacks from jihadist groups in Niger, the country's military reports late on Wednesday.
According to the military, nine of them were killed in connection with battles against IS-allied jihadists at a gold mine in the western Tillaberi region on Saturday.
The second attack took place two days later on the other side of the country, when four soldiers were killed in battles with a group said to be part of Boko Haram.
