At least 13 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes against Gaza during the night towards Tuesday, says Mahmud Bassal from the terrorist-stamped Hamas civilian defense authority.
According to Bassal, ten people were killed in a residential building in southwestern Gaza City and three people in an apartment in the western part of the city were killed in another attack. In addition, several people are said to have been injured.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in early August that Israel intends to take full control over the entire Gaza. His government has approved an invasion of Gaza City, one of the few parts of the area that Israel does not already have full military control over. The first phase of the offensive is said to have begun.
