Truck Carrying 60-Tonne Transformer Finally Moves Off Damaged Strömsund Bridge

The 100-tonne truck carrying a 60-tonne transformer has held up traffic since September 30. It has now finally rolled off the damaged Strömsund Bridge, P4 Jämtland reports.

The truck was on its way to Norway when the bridge suddenly lifted and the roadway broke late in the evening on September 29.

The Strömsund Bridge, which was built in the 1950s, underwent renovations until 2025, but the parts that broke were not included in the renovation.

The truck will now be inspected before it can continue to its final destination.
