The police have handled several cases of suspected attempts at fraud during the day.
I Linköping, Norrköping, Eskilstuna, Jönköping and Trosa, people have been called from a hidden number. In some cases, it is stated that the person said they came from the police, in some cases, it is stated that it is an automatic voice that speaks. Common to these cases is that the caller claims that the people are involved in a money laundering crime – either because the person's ID appears in the investigation, or because the person is wanted through an arrest warrant.
Not in any of the cases should the people have lost money.
The police want to warn of attempted scams in connection with this.
It is not uncommon for scammers to pose as coming from the police, or other authorities.
The police will never call you in this way and ask you to identify yourself or click on links.
Be vigilant when you receive calls you do not recognize.
Never log in via Bank-ID on the urging of someone else, and never give anyone else access to your card information.
