During the day, the police are informed about information regarding a suspected case of elder abuse in Eskilstuna. It is about an elderly man who received a visit at his residence by an unknown man, who claimed that he had come there to clean the kitchen ventilation. The suspected con artist is also said to have told the homeowner that he had received an SMS about just that work being done, which he had not at all received. 

The homeowner sensed something was off – and for that reason did not let the unknown man into his house. The complainant contacted the police, but this was only done a short time after the man left the area.

We want to point out that one should definitely contact 112 directly if one suspects that one is being exposed to any form of attempt at theft or fraud of another kind. If the police's command center receives such information directly, the likelihood of us getting hold of the perpetrators and being able to prosecute them will be significantly higher.

A report regarding an attempt at theft is initially being prepared, but there is no suspect or any traces of the unknown man.
