Alarm about an assault came in from an ambulance in Harmånger. A staff member from the ambulance had been injured by a sharp object by a man at the scene. The staff member was taken to hospital but died from their injuries. Relatives have been informed.

The police responded with several resources and residents at the scene were asked to stay indoors during the operation.

The perpetrator, a man in his mid-20s, was found in a residence at the scene and was arrested suspected of murder. In anticipation of further investigative measures, the residence was sealed off.
