11:26 Police were alerted to a school in Vingåker due to several people noting that an adult man had a sharp object and acted threateningly towards a child. This is said to have occurred outdoors. The man is also said to have held the child and expressed a desire to contact the police.

11:32 Police patrol on site.

11:33 The man is said to have released the child. The child has returned to the school and been taken care of by staff there.

11:37 Patrol has gained control of the man. 

11:47 No person has come to physical harm and the current legal situation is illegal threats, kidnapping, and a violation of the knife law. The man, in his 60s, has been arrested. 

11:54 Police are continuing to work at the school for investigative purposes as well as for a safety-creating purpose. A dialogue is also being conducted with the school.
