Reports came in about a vehicle that was being driven erratically on E4 near Bygdeå. A police patrol was ordered to the scene to check the driver and the vehicle. The patrol encountered the relevant vehicle and, in connection with attempting to stop it, the driver tried to drive away from the patrol. A pursuit was initiated that followed E4 northwards.

Patrols from Skellefteå were ordered to assist in the matter and on E4 south of Bureå the vehicle was stopped with the help of a spike mat and, in connection with this, the driver chose to flee the scene on foot. The patrols were able to encircle an area where the driver could be located and, with the help of a police dog, the man, who is 30 years old, was located and apprehended.

The man is suspected of Gross drunk driving and reckless driving and was detained after contact with the prosecutor.
