The police have worked on a traffic and information campaign targeted at cyclists and pedestrians in central Umeå today. The aim is to work for a safe and secure environment for everyone in the city centre.

38 cyclists (both people who travelled on e-bikes and on regular bicycles) have been fined for "breach of prohibition on traffic with vehicles". The fine amount is 500 kronor.

A call to all cyclists is to follow the current signage in the area. Many unprotected road users are moving in the city centre and it is about creating a secure traffic environment for everyone.
