Effort against sex trade in West Sweden.

Last week, the police in Western Sweden collaborated with other authorities in an operation against prostitution and human trafficking. Following raids on massage parlors, several reports have been filed regarding suspected pimping.

The joint authority operation has focused on human trafficking and exploitation for sexual purposes. A dozen police reports have been filed regarding suspected pimping.

- The police's work against human trafficking is ongoing. This week's operation shows that anyone who mediates or purchases sexual services in Western Sweden can never feel safe without risking being caught and prosecuted, says Stefan Adamsson, the police's coordinator for human trafficking in Region West.

The operation, which also included workplace inspections, was led by the police's regional section against international organized serious crime, together with the regional center against labor criminality.

Other police competencies also participated in the work, including investigators, dog handlers, forensic technicians, and personnel from the border police.

About a dozen massage parlors in the Gothenburg area have been visited by the police.

Also participating were the Swedish Tax Agency, the environmental and health protection authority, the social services department of the City of Gothenburg, and the Work Environment Authority, as well as the Equality Authority.
