In other news: The police have started measuring traffic speeds using radar in their cars. The first cars equipped with this technology took to Swedish roads earlier this year. The radar can be used to measure the speed of other vehicles, both when the police car is stationary and while it is moving. The radar can also measure the speed of vehicles ahead of the police car and in oncoming lanes.
Several of the drivers stopped for speeding today were stopped after police patrols measured their speed using this technology.
The decision to equip police cars with radar speed meters is the latest in a series of measures to achieve Vision Zero, where no one should be killed or seriously injured in traffic.
