Shortly after midnight, a person was shot outside a nightclub on Stureplan in central Stockholm. The person shot is a man in his 30s and he was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries that are not considered life-threatening. 

During the night, the police have held interrogations with several witnesses and conducted a technical investigation of the crime scene. The police have also gone through surveillance cameras.

The incident is classified as attempted murder, gross firearms offense and causing danger to another.

The police are continuing to work with the information that has been collected so far about the incident. Due to the investigation, no details can be given about any potential arrests at this time. The police are working to determine the motive.

It's too early to say anything about potential connections to previous violent crimes in the region. Police will be present in the area during the day and evening in a security-creating purpose. A camera van will be set up near the crime scene.
