Three cases of suspected attempted fraud have come to the police's attention this morning. In all cases, people in their 70s have received SMS messages with information that a plumbing company is to come and perform work during the morning. The SMS also includes a number that can be called for questions.

None of the complainants have ordered any plumbing work.

The police suspect that this is an attempt at fraud.

Be cautious if you receive an email or SMS that prompts you to click on a link or call a number. If you are unsure, call the switchboard of the company that the sender claims to be from.
