The police have received several calls from drivers regarding a person who walked into the traffic lane on E4/E16 in Gävle on Thursday evening.

The incident has caused long queues and disruptions in traffic.

Several patrols were sent to the scene and the man was located and taken into custody by the police after a short time.

As the man did not comply with the police's requests, the police used an ECD (electronic stun gun) and OC spray in order to be able to take the person into custody.

The man has been taken to the hospital for a medical examination.
