The theft is said to have been witnessed by a large number of students and during the conversation a group verbally confronts the suspected perpetrator, who is then said to return the bicycle and leave. Several patrols drive to the scene and locate a man who matches the description. After investigative measures, the man, who is in his 50s, is informed of suspicion of theft. A woman who is believed to have been in his company has been heard, but is not suspected of any crime in connection with the incident.
