Scams against elderly people continue - everyone is urged to talk to relatives and friends about the risks and how the scams can occur.
Often an older person is called by an unknown person who claims to be from an insurance company, the police, an alarm company, a bank or similar. The alternatives can be several - the basis is that the caller is trying to get personal information. It can be about trying to get the person called to log in to bank-ID or that someone is supposed to come home and pick up a bank card and code.
It can also start with a text message where it is stated that the person who receives the text message is supposed to have taken a loan or other incorrect information that is supposed to make the person who receives the text message worried and therefore they are supposed to call a number that is in the text message.
The people who call sound convincing and pretend that it is about protecting the person being called in different ways.
Basic is: Never give out bank cards or codes to unknown people, log in to bank-ID either on request. Hang up the phone if you become the slightest suspicious.
