During the day, several elderly people in Nynäshamn and Haninge have been targeted for both completed frauds and attempts at fraud. Five cases have so far come to the knowledge of the regional management center.

The cases have similar methods.

An unknown person has called the victim and said that they are calling from the police, a bank, or a company that works with loans.

It has then been talked about that there is a loan in the victim's name and in some cases, the victim has been threatened with a police report.

In the next step, it has been about making home visits to collect valuables from the victim.

In connection with this, it is worth noting that neither banks nor the police make home visits to private individuals to collect valuable items and/or bank cards. Banks and the police do not ask for access to bank card codes either.

However, fraudsters are interested in cards, codes, and valuable items.
