18:10 Police were alerted to a multi-family house in Värnamo due to a caller hearing a loud bang. It is also said to be smoke-filled in the stairwell.

18:17 Police patrol on site.

18:21 There are no reports of personal injuries. However, there are material damages to a window and an entrance door. An investigation has been initiated regarding gross negligence and a violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods.

18:33 The crime scene has been cordoned off and residents in the house have been evacuated.

18:57 The bang is said to have come from a common area inside the building.

19:11 The national bomb squad is on its way to the scene.

19:22 There is currently no suspect or arrested in the matter. The police are working full-time to secure the crime scene, the investigation and to search for the perpetrator(s).

21:08 The national bomb squad is on site to assist with the technical investigation together with the police's forensic technicians. The police have also conducted door-to-door questioning in the area to gather information.
