A man contacts the police and reports that he and a friend have interrupted a bicycle theft.
The perpetrators, a man and a woman, are said to have attempted to take the bicycle from a woman. When the informant and his friend intervened, the perpetrator is said to have hit his friend. They follow the perpetrators as they leave the scene, and become witnesses to a completed bicycle theft. The police obtain an identity for the female perpetrator, and outside her home address, the stolen bicycle is found. Three reports are filed: Attempted theft, assault, and theft. The victim in the assault case is a 50-year-old man.
