The man, who is awake and able to speak, is taken to the hospital by ambulance.

A woman is suspected of having injured the man with the help of a weapon. She is apprehended.

The man and the woman have known each other previously.

The incident is said to have occurred in a dwelling, which is sealed off pending a technical investigation.  

The case is initially classified as attempted murder or aggravated assault.

An interrogation is to be held. Thereafter, the prosecutor will make a decision as to whether the woman should be detained or not.
