Both yesterday and today, there have been reports of people using a fake Swish-app in stores in central Skellefteå.

Two complaints have been filed, one regarding an attempt at fraud and one regarding fraud. There are no known suspects at present.

The police are urging extra caution when someone wants to pay with Swish, make sure you can verify that the payment is actually made.

In the two cases in Skellefteå, it has been possible to enter phone numbers and amounts in the fake Swish-app, but it has not been possible to scan QR codes. In addition, the background color of the fake app is said to be greener than in the real app.
