
Björn shot in Lycksele municipality – the police are investigating.
The police are contacted by a hunter who is on elk hunting. A bear is said to have made an attack on the hunter and the hunter then shot the bear.
The hunter has not been injured in connection with the incident.
A police patrol is ordered to the scene. The scene is documented. The bear is seized and is to be taken to the National Veterinary Institute.
The incident is being investigated as a hunting crime since a bear was shot during a time when this is not allowed. According to routine, the investigation is led by a prosecutor at the regional unit for environmental and occupational health goals (Rema).
There is no suspect at present.
